Scottish International Policing Conference 2018 Policing and Public Health: opportunities and challenges
4th December 2018
We are pleased to announce the Eighth Scottish International Policing Conference
Policing and Public Health: opportunities and challenges
Globally, there is a growing recognition of a shared common ground between police and public health services. The links between policing and health are inextricable, yet the intersections still poorly understood. Policing and public health practice, education and research has evolved through two distinctly different systems with divergent cultures, roots, and practices.
The aim of the SIPR conference is to start to dissect policing and public health issues, recognise emerging themes, identify what works, where new opportunities lie, and help build police-public health partnerships that are effective, accountable, sustainable and inclusive.
We are particularly pleased to welcome Professor Nick Crofts, who will present this year’s James Smart Memorial Lecture
The Conference is FREE, but spaces are limited and must be booked.
