International Study Visit Explores Scottish Research and Practice in Criminal Justice and Policing

SIPR recently welcomed a group of senior researchers from Sweden as part of an international study visit exploring criminal justice policy, policing, and evidence based prevention approaches in Scotland.

The visit focused on a range of contemporary issues including organised crime, sexual violence, domestic abuse, criminal exploitation, hate crime, correctional services, and local crime prevention partnerships. Discussions also explored evidence based approaches to prevention and collaboration between policing, social services, prosecutors, and correctional services.

SIPR Director Dr Andrew Wooff attended the meeting and contributed to discussions on Scottish policing research, research practice partnerships, and the value of collaborative approaches to addressing complex social harms.

The visit provided an important opportunity to exchange international perspectives, share research insights, and strengthen connections between researchers and practitioners working across criminal justice and policing.
