Before joining RMA as a Researcher, I completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology and an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology at the University of Strathclyde. In October 2023 I completed my PhD in Human Geography, focusing on how officers within Police Scotland make sense of changes in their investigative environment, specifically considering cybercrime investigations, their everchanging nature and the role of police culture in creating meaning and understanding. My professional career has involved work as a statistician at National Records of Scotland and as an Associate Inspector with HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland, providing research support to their ongoing scrutiny plan. The focus of my work now is on reducing serious harm in Scotland and engaging with researchers and practitioners in the effort to make Scotland safer.

Research:

Policing Cybercrime, Sensemaking, Police Culture, Risk Management, Forensic Interventions, Psychological Interventions, Violent and Sexual Offending
