The Scottish International Policing Conference 2026 is now open for registration.

This year’s conference brings together policymakers, practitioners, researchers and academics to explore how strong partnerships between policing and academia can strengthen evidence informed practice, support innovation and enhance impact across the sector. Expect inspiring keynote lectures and engaging discussion designed to spark meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
Keynote speakers:
• Nick Fyfe Lecture delivered by Professor Cynthia Lum
• James Smart Memorial Lecture delivered by Gary Ritchie KPM
Professor Lum is a globally recognised leader in evidence based policing and Director of the Center for Evidence Based Crime Policy at George Mason University. Her work focuses on translating research into practice and strengthening the impact of science on policing strategy and decision making.
Gary Ritchie KPM brings more than three decades of senior policing experience, including service as Assistant Chief Constable in Scotland. He has led major organisational change and international policing initiatives, and continues to champion collaboration between policing and academia.
